What happens on my first visit?
A new patient is greeted warmly by our professional support staff, and asked to fill out some informational and medical history forms, some of which can be completed at a later time and mailed to us, or returned during the follow-up appointment. These forms assist us in helping you.
Next, is a thorough, gentle, whole-body evaluation using all the non-invasive diagnostic techniques at our disposal. It is often surprising to new clients how much time our doctors devote to this initial evaluation, but at Berkeley Heights Chiropractic, we understand that careful, comprehensive diagnosis is essential to effective treatment.
During and after this initial examination, patients are encouraged to ask questions, and to avail themselves of the many informative pamphlets and articles provided by BHCC. Patient education is fundamental to the client-doctor partnership that is the hallmark of our clinic.

What do you mean "team doctor" approach?
At Berkeley Heights Chiropractic Center, we put into practice the ancient adage, "two heads are better than one." We do this by assigning you a team of doctors, consisting of at least two of our expert staff, who together, provide you with the optimum course of treatment.
This procedure also insures that at least two physicians are familiar with the details of your particular case, and can serve as backups to one another in the event of unexpected scheduling changes.
Finally, this innovative arrangement offers you, the patient, the greatest flexibility in terms of doctor availability. Aside from your overall well-being, accessibility to our staff is one of our primary concerns.

Can I choose which doctor I see?
Absolutely! BHCC's "prime directive" is patient accommodation. We want you to feel comfortable with all aspects of your treatment, especially in deciding to whom you entrust your health care.

What is Nutritional Therapy?
The treatment of an amazing number of ailments through the use of all-natural supplements, herbal solutions, and dietary recommendations, that can sometimes effectively cure a condition that would otherwise require more drastic or prolonged surgical or medicinal intervention.

Are the regimens you offer expensive?
In today's exorbitant health care industry, Chiropractic is probably one of the most cost effective treatment programs available. An increasing number of insurance companies are recognizing this, and are encouraging policyholders to make use of chiropractic as a regular part of their health care.
Of course, cost is also relative. If you consider that many of our patients, through our treatments, have NOT had to undergo surgery or prolonged use of expensive medication, then our professional fees are reasonable, indeed!

Does BHCC provide long-term treatment?
We will continue to treat your particular condition as long as necessary. Because of the gentle, gradual and non-invasive nature of chiropractic, it may seem that improvement takes some time. But when you consider the long-term effectiveness of our holistic health care approach, coupled with our dedication to helping you achieve your optimum level of well-being, length of treatment is seen as a necessary function of our primary goal: not only to help you feel better but to remove the cause of your problem and, therefore, return you to the true, ideal health.

What methods and terms of payment do you accept?
We accept most insurance company plans, affordable individual payment plans, and VISA and MASTERCARD.

What if my condition won't respond to your treatments?
First, we will NEVER treat someone with a condition outside the scope of our practice. We work in partnership with other, highly-qualified medical specialists, and will not hesitate to make a referral when necessary.
Secondly, because of the gentle, gradual and non-invasive nature of chiropractic, it may seem that improvement takes some time. But when you consider the long-term effectiveness of our holistic health care approach, coupled with our dedication to helping you achieve your optimum level of well-being, length of treatment is seen as a necessary function of our primary goal: to help you feel better.
Patience and persistence therefore, are key ingredients in the recipe for success in the treatment programs we offer.

How long will it take before I start to feel better?
Some patients have reported feeling better after the first visit. For other conditions, the improvement is seen over a longer period of time. When you consider how long it has taken some of our patients to feel bad enough to seek help, it is not surprising that getting better may occur gradually in some cases.
Consequently, at Berkeley Heights Chiropractic Center we emphasize the simple fact that it takes much more time and effort to get better, than it does to stay better. That's precisely why we like to stress lifestyle improvement and wellness programs as part of our comprehensive patient services.

How do I stay well after receiving treatment?
Become educated about your body and the warning signs that it is designed to give. Know what to eat and what not to eat, and how to keep a "good biomechanical profile" in posture and activities. In fact, patient education is the fundamental key to wellness. That's why we offer free, informative seminars about the essentials of living life at the optimum level of health.
Remember, it takes much more time and effort to get better, than it does to stay better.
